Colourful African Artshop in Amsterdam

In this galleryshop you find a mix of cultural handmade gifts, decorative objects, paintings and sculptures. In particular you find handicrafts from Africa like beautiful baskets from Senegal, pillow-covers and cloths (bongolans) from Mali, calabashes from Kenia, scrapmetal and stone art from Zimbabwe, ceramics from Tunesia and recycled objects from metal cans from Madagascar. Besides this we sell a variety of Eastern objects, natural jewelry and Putumayo CD's with worldmusic.

Karibu Gallery & Giftshop is member of Your Gift Cards but also sells giftcards that can be spend either on articles, art-objects, a feelgood treatment or a high-tea in our relax garden.

Jessica Erdtsieck

Karibu Gallery & Giftshop has been initiated in 2007 by Jessica Erdtsieck, antropologist en yoga-teacher. She has spend some years in East-Africa for research into traditional healing. Jessica's idea and motivation is to make this galleryshop an inspiring place where people interested in African art and culture or holistic healing methods can meet. Furthermore she wishes to facilitate African artist to expose their art, to give acoustic concerts or other expressive art form in Karibu Garden. Upon request she can organize African Musical Festivals, Workshops and Handicraft Markets. Karibu is Swahili for welcome.
